Singing for the Sake of My Soul is a recital combining classical song, storytelling and personal reflection to explore identity, belonging and the richness of our shared musical heritage.
Through works by composers from the African diaspora alongside the traditional classical canon, Norwegian mezzo-soprano Siv Iren Misund invites audiences to discover voices that have too often been overlooked.

Inspired by her own journey of finding representation within classical music, the program celebrates both artistic excellence and cultural dialogue. Rather than redefining the classical tradition, it reveals the breadth and diversity that have always been part of it. Singing for the Sake of My Soul is an invitation to listen with fresh ears, discover extraordinary repertoire, and experience classical music as a living tradition that continues to evolve through new perspectives.
